Yes, on a whole number of levels.

Greece is in chaos - one wonders what is happening in the Churches. What do you hear?

Actually, I am not part of any Greek circles, even though I belong to the Greek church. News about Greece, especially disconcerting news, stays 'in the family.' As for the Church of Greece, I wonder how they are dealing with it. The sad part is, that ordinary people are hard hit, and can't make ends meet. It seems to me, that Greece was forced to 'marry up' economically when she joined the EU, even though she was 'too young', and now that she has only done what was expected, she's become a byword for insolvency and fiscal irresponsibility, I think, unjustly.

Just as you can't impose 'democracy' on a nation not prepared for it (Africa after 1958), you also can't impose German thrift and financial wisdom on the Mediterranean world, not overnight anyway.
